This week, our focus has been on our key ingredients and why we've included each one in the formula. We pride ourselves on having an all-natural whitening formula, that delivers maximum results with no pain or sensitivity. Today, we're bringing you a spotlight on the five main ingredients we use in our products, and a little bit about why they're so special.

SB

Sodium Bicarbonate

Sodium Bicarbonate is a naturally occurring mineral, more commonly known as Baking Soda. The compound has a mild abrasive composition that polishes teeth and removes surface stains. Other than helping you achieve a brighter smile, Sodium Bicarbonate also helps to dislodge plaque build-up on your teeth.

Generally, the lower the pH level in your mouth, the higher the risk of tooth decay. Tooth decay will occur when the pH level in your mouth is lower than 5.5. Sodium Bicarbonate can raise pH to a more neutral level, ensuring that no tooth erosion or enamel damage occurs while still achieving maximum whitening results.

SC

Sodium Chlorite

Sodium Chlorite is often confused with Sodium Chloride, more commonly known as table salt. In reality, it has entirely different chemical properties to its counterpart. As an oxidising agent, Sodium Chlorite is generally used for bleaching and antimicrobial treatment.

Sodium Chlorite releases a compound which is shown to improve mouth odour pleasantness. It's also useful in reducing plaque and bacteria in saliva, making it a great ingredient to pair with Sodium Bicarbonate.

AV

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a succulent plant, cultivated around the world for agricultural and medicinal uses. The extract from Aloe Vera is a natural anti-inflammatory, which means it's the perfect ingredient for sensitive teeth and gums.

Infected oral cavities and gum disease can be pretty detrimental to the overall appearance of your teeth. Luckily, the great thing about Aloe Leaf Juice is that it contains anti-bacterial properties that help prevent these conditions.

PG

Pomegranate

Pomegranate is a fruit rich in vitamin C, potassium, and fibre. Pomegranates contain three times the antioxidants of red wine or green tea, making them a potent anti-inflammatory ingredient.

Much like Aloe Vera, the anti-microbial properties of Pomegranate Seed Extract work to fight off common gum diseases and improve your overall oral health. Not surprisingly, this makes them another perfect ingredient for strengthening teeth and gums.

CM

Chamomile

Chamomile is a daisy-like plant, commonly used to make herbal medicines and remedies. The essential oils extracted from Chamomile have anti-inflammatory compounds, explaining why Chamomile is so well known for its soothing properties.

In oral care, Chamomile has been commonly used to reduce inflammation and plaque formation, and disinfect the root canal. The hypoallergenic nature of the extract also makes it a great ingredient for sensitive teeth and gums.

Now more than ever before, we're researching and exploring new ingredients to deliver the best oral care products. For more on our product design process, read up on how our Teeth Whitening Kit has continued to evolve over the years.
