The brief
Traditional forms of teeth whitening have always been expensive, time-consuming, and quite painful for anyone with sensitive gums or teeth.
HiSmile was born from the idea that there had to be a better way to whiten your teeth without the hassle, pain or sensitivity of traditional whitening methods. We wanted to create a product that was affordable, fast and easy to use. We wanted a solution that delivered maximum results with absolutely no sensitivity. We wanted nothing short of something revolutionary.
The Teeth Whitening Kit delivered on each of these promises and brought teeth whitening into homes and bathrooms all around the world.
An all natural formula
It all started with our formula. Almost every teeth whitening product on the market contained some form of hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is a chemical bleaching agent that can cause sensitivity or permanent damage to teeth and gums.
Rather than using hydrogen peroxide, we combined sodium bicarbonate and sodium chloride with various plant extracts. The result was a whitening gel that's vegan-friendly, all-natural and sensitivity free. No soreness, guaranteed.
The ten minute timer
Time was the next hurdle that we encountered. Whitening at the dentist may be instant, but it involves long hours spent in the chair. More often than not, you walk away with painful or sensitive teeth and gums. We understood that people are more time-poor than ever before. Anything more than an hour, and the slightest bit of soreness just wouldn't cut it.
So, we reworked and refined our formula again to try to find the quickest, most effective, pain-free treatment. Eventually, we were able to reduce the session time to just 10 minutes, and six short sessions. To go the extra mile, we included an inbuilt timer for the LED light that would beep on completion. Achieving maximum whitening results from the comfort of your own home was now a reality without the pain or sensitivity.
One size fits all
Our next test was to create a device that was easy to use. Most whitening treatments involve a mouth tray that moulds to your teeth. This method proved to be time-consuming and difficult for a user on-the-go.
The solution was to design a mouth tray that fits all mouth shapes and sizes comfortably, with no moulding required. It's as simple as attaching the mouth tray to the LED light, and your device is ready for use.
Simple, stylish experience
The final step was to make it simple and stylish. The appearance of the Teeth Whitening Kit has evolved over the years, but the circular form has always remained at the core of the design.
We're continually looking at the needs of our community to refine and improve our products time and time again. What began as just a simple whitening kit has paved the way for our success and is now the heart of a wider family of products.
